Bleaching (Teeth Whitening)

Tooth color is personal. Teeth color may change depending on the consumption of beverages such as tea, coffee and cigarettes. In such cases, bleaching can be done.

Many tooth whiteners sold on the market and used by the person themselves harm the teeth and the whitening effect is limited. Methods other than the methods applied under the control of your dentist (for example, tooth whitener sold in markets or pharmacies) are not recommended because they pose a risk in treatment.

In the whitening process, pain does not occur as long as the gel does not come to the dentine and gingiva or as long as there are no micro cracks in the enamel. Other than that, a slight sensitivity may occur and disappear in about 24 hours.

The effect of whitening lasts about 1-2 years. If you do not consume too much dyed foods and drinks that will color your teeth, and if you reduce your smoking, this period may be longer. In addition, supporting the Office bleaching process with home bleaching afterwards also contributes to the life of the whitening process.

Whitening methods

Office bleaching:

It is the method with the fastest result applied by your dentist. Mostly, results can be obtained in a single session.

Home bleaching:

It is a whitening method that you can apply at home under the supervision of your dentist. Special plates are prepared by taking measurements from the patient. You can apply whitening at home according to the training we provide.

Dental İmplant

Implants are artificial titanium tooth roots placed in the jawbone to replace teeth lost for various reasons. The operation is performed under local anesthesia without any pain or discomfort. General anesthesia can also be applied when necessary.

Implant is a comfortable and reliable application that will restore the function of extracted or lost teeth and provide aesthetics.

Thanks to the implant, tooth deficiency can be eliminated without touching the adjacent healthy teeth, and better speech and chewing function compared to traditional veneers and prostheses provides.

Implants are the most accurate and satisfactory solution with the comfort they provide, aesthetic appearance, and prostheses made without damaging the neighboring teeth. Dental implants also prevent bone loss.

What is an Implant, In Which Situations Can It Be Made?

Implants are artificial titanium tooth roots placed in the jawbone to replace teeth lost for various reasons. The operation is performed under local anesthesia without any pain or discomfort. General anesthesia can also be applied when necessary. Implant is a comfortable and reliable application that will restore the function of extracted or lost teeth and provide aesthetics. Implants are the most accurate and satisfactory solution with the comfort they provide, aesthetic appearance, and prostheses made without damaging the neighboring teeth. Dental implants also prevent bone loss.

What are the Benefits of Implant Application?

Implant treatment is very easy to use, comfortable, robust, aesthetic and the most acceptable form of treatment for the patient. Porcelain prostheses made on implants replace real teeth, providing a natural and aesthetic appearance. It is an important advantage not to touch healthy teeth while missing teeth are being completed. It is much longer lasting than all prostheses.

Is Implant Treatment Long-lasting?

In the appropriate case, if the appropriately selected implants are made correctly and the patient has taken the necessary care of oral hygiene, the implants can remain in the mouth for a very long time without causing any problems.

Can each patient be implanted?

Implants can be applied to anyone with good general health. As long as the general health of the patient is good, there is no upper age limit to prevent implant application. However, the implant may not be suitable for very young patients whose bone development has not been completed.

In Which Sitıations Can Implants Be Used?

If there is an appropriate amount of bone, the required number of implants can be applied. The thing to be considered here is the width and height of the bone, its distance from neighboring teeth and anatomical structures. The condition of the bone is determined by radiography or computerized tomography.

Will I Have Pain While Implant Placement?

Since the appropriate anesthesia method is applied in the implant treatment, it is not possible to feel pain. There may be some pain after the procedure, similar to the pain after tooth extraction. The pain felt on the evening of the implant can be relieved by using simple painkillers.

How Long is the Total Treatment Time?

Implant treatment is performed in two stages. Depending on the case, the placement time of an implant is approximately ten minutes. The prosthesis phase is approximately 2-3 months after the placement of the implants.

Is an Implant Necessary for Every Missing Tooth?

No, usually not required. If the number of missing teeth is more than two, then a plan can be made to make a bridge prosthesis in the edentulous area by leaving a gap between the implants.

Where and How is Implant Treatment Performed?

Implant treatment is done with a multidisciplinary study. It is very important for your own health, first of all, that such a treatment is carried out in centers where it is complicated. During this treatment, it may be necessary to carry out a detailed examination from your general health to the examination of the area where the implant will be applied, and some necessary examinations may be requested. These examinations are also carried out within our organization.

With the panoramic film and computerized tomography with dental program in our clinic, the condition of the bone is examined and an appropriate treatment plan is made.

Is There a Chance for Implants to Fail?

Generally, the failure rate in implant applications is around 1-2%. Before implant treatment, it is necessary to learn the general health status of the patient. In some diseases (such as diabetes) implant application should be avoided. In addition, the success rate of implants is lower in smokers and people who do not pay attention to oral hygiene.

Endodontics

Endodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with the treatment of damage to the pulp (dental nerve) tissue, which forms the living part of the tooth.

Root Canal Treatment

In the visible (crown) and invisible (root) parts of the tooth, there is the living pulp tissue (dental nerve) that nourishes the tooth and ensures its development. When the pulp becomes inflamed, it is removed and root canal treatment is performed. With this treatment, the patient’s tooth loss is prevented and the tooth continues to function.

  • Conditions Requiring Root Canal Treatment

  • Pain that wakes you up at night

  • Untreated dental caries

  •

Long-term persistence of hot and cold sensitivity
  • Swelling and pain in the surrounding tissues of the tooth

  • Enlargement of the lymph nodes around the tooth

  • The Life of the Root Canal Treated Tooth

Root canal treatment can be completed in a single session, or in some cases, several sessions may be required. The tooth treated with root canal can maintain its function for life with good care and regular controls. Since there is no pulp tissue in these teeth, they cannot repair themselves and may become brittle.

Does Root Canal Treatment Cause Pain?

Since root canal treatment is performed under local anesthesia, pain is not felt.

If necessary, auxiliary anesthetics can also be applied.

There may be pain for a few days after the root canal treatment, but this pain decreases in the following days.

Mild pain relievers can be used during this time.

What should be considered after root canal treatment?

  • Paying attention to some points after root canal treatment both accelerates healing and prolongs the life of the tooth. The points to be considered can be listed as follows;

  • After the treatment, chewing should not be done with the teeth in the relevant area or care should be taken.

  • Using mild pain relievers and anti-inflammatory drugs for a while after treatment will facilitate the healing process.

  • Biting hard foods should be avoided, it should not be forgotten that the tooth may break.

  • Oral hygiene should be given importance, brushing after every meal and flossing once a day should not be neglected.

  • After root canal treatment, tooth discoloration may occur, in which case whitening treatment can be applied.

  • If a tooth with root canal treatment is broken, a doctor should be consulted.

  • You should visit the dentist at least once a year.

Zirconium Porcelain Veneer

The importance of dental aesthetics in dentistry is increasing day by day. Thanks to the developing new technologies, aesthetic dental applications come to the fore. Today, metal-supported porcelains, which have been used for many years to cover teeth with crowns, are now being replaced by zirconium-based porcelains. Zirconium dental veneers provide a much more aesthetic appearance than the old metal tooth veneer applications, thanks to their ability to transmit light. In addition, the compatibility of zirconium dental crowns with the gingiva is very good. Unlike metal-supported veneers, they do not cause any disease or allergic problem in the gums.

In porcelains with zirconium substructure, zirconium, a white alloy, is used instead of metal as substructure. Zirconium-based porcelains are both natural and aesthetic enough to be used on anterior teeth and resistant enough to be used on posterior teeth. Therefore, zirconium-based porcelains can be safely preferred for anterior and posterior teeth.

Why should zirconium percelains be preferred?

  • Thanks to the light transmittance properties of zirconium-based porcelains, a full compatibility with natural teeth can be achieved. In this way, an excellent aesthetic result can be obtained.

  • Since there is no metal reflection underneath, the artificial image seen in porcelain with metal infrastructure does not occur.

  • Gingival compatibility is much better than classical metal-based porcelains. Gingival discoloration, which is frequently seen in metal-based porcelain, is definitely not visible in zirconium.

  • Since it is a 99% tissue-friendly material, it is not allergic. It is more advantageous in terms of general body health compared to metal supported prostheses.

  • Since they have very good heat insulation properties, they transmit less heat to the tooth than porcelain with metal base. In this way, hot/cold sensitivity does not occur in teeth with zirconium-based porcelain applied.

  • Thanks to their high resistance of 900-1200 megapascals, they can also be used safely on the teeth in the posterior regions.

  • Excellent aesthetic results can be achieved even on very dark colored teeth, as it has the ability to mask the color of the teeth coming from below.

  • Since they are produced with a very sensitive work, they are perfectly compatible with the cut tooth surface. In this way, since there is no gap between the zirconium porcelain and the tooth where bacteria can leak, it does not allow the formation of caries.

  • They are healthy materials that do not cause taste disorders, gingival problems and bad breath in the mouth.

  • They can be used safely on both anterior and posterior teeth.

Digital Dentistry

Digital dentistry; means the use of fully or partially computer-assisted devices, methods and technology during diagnosis, planning and treatment.

People who will undergo implant treatment, smile design, orthodontic treatment, bridge, inlay-onlay, fixed prosthesis treatment within the scope of digital dentistry applications can benefit from digital dentistry treatments.

Advantages of Digital Dentistry

Thanks to a special scanner that can easily take images from the mouth, the size of the tooth to be restored is taken digitally and transferred to the computer environment. Thus, there is no need for procedures that reduce patient comfort, such as nausea and allergies during measurement.

Thanks to computer support, treatment times have been shortened. During the treatment of dental problems, problems that may arise from the laboratory are prevented and the error rate is reduced to zero. The success and aesthetic rate of implant treatments has increased. All procedures within the scope of digital dentistry are performed with or without local anesthesia. No pain or ache is felt during the procedures.

Ortodontics

Although orthodontic treatments are similar depending on the individual’s tooth and skeletal structure and complaints, the treatment plan may be different for each case. Early diagnosis of orthodontic problems is extremely important. Defects can be prevented or minimized in early diagnosed anomalies.

If skeletal disorders are diagnosed before growth and development is completed (on average, around the age of 12 in girls and 14 in boys), their treatment is possible. Otherwise, such disorders can often be treated only with a combination of surgical interventions and orthognathic treatment (orthognathic surgery).

Diagnosis and Treatment of Orthodontic Disorders

Orthodontic disorders are mainly classified under 3 headings.

Problems can be skeletal, dental, or a combination of both. In addition, by using panoramic x-rays, the eruption time, eruption direction, root status and number of teeth can be diagnosed.

Orthodontic treatment can be applied in children as well as in adult patients.

As a beautiful and aesthetic smile comes to the fore in daily work and social life, the demand for orthodontic treatment in adults is increasing.

Treatments in Orthodontics

The use of treatment options may vary according to the needs of the case and the patient’s demand. We can sort as follows:

  • Metal Brackets

  • Transparent Brackets

  • Clamshell Brackets (Frictionless systems)

  • Treatment with Transparent Plates

Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery

It is the branch of dentistry in which the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in the mouth, teeth and jaw area are determined. Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery, Diagnosis and surgical treatment of all kinds of diseases related to soft tissue (cheek, palate, tongue, lips) and hard tissues (teeth, bones) in the oral cavity under local anesthesia, general anesthesia or sedation anesthesia in the operating room environment. It is a department that performs operations.

Treatment options

  • Implant application,

  • 20 year old female shots,

  • Impacted dental operations,

  • Jaw fractures treatment,

  • Detection and treatment of abscesses and cysts of the jaw and surrounding tissues,

  • Jaw joint disorder treatment,

  • Treatments such as arranging tissues before prosthesis and orthodontic treatment.

How Do Jaw Joint Disorders Occur?

The jaw joint is functionally different from other joints in that it makes multidimensional movements. The jaw joint works almost 24 hours without stopping. Jaw joint diseases are caused by factors that disrupt the harmonious functioning of anatomical structures. These can be temporary or long-term.

What Are the Symptoms of Jaw Joint Diseases?

  • Limitation in mouth opening,

  • Pain reflected in the ear, face, teeth, eyes

  • Pain in chewing muscles,

  • Percent asymmetry,

  • Keeping the chin open.

Method in the treatment of joint disease; removal of the factor. In this sense, missing and faulty teeth are corrected, closing problems are solved orthodontically, and muscular problems are eliminated with the help of a physical therapist when necessary.

Smile Design

One of the first concepts that comes to mind when it comes to aesthetic dentistry is ‘smile design’. Smile design; It is the process of giving a natural and beautiful appearance to the teeth and gums that have deteriorated aesthetically for various reasons, taking into account the face shapes and needs of the patients. Smile design, which is a multidisciplinary approach, is carried out by applying many processes together.

What are the Applications for Smile Design?

Since the aesthetic requirements of each patient will be different, the procedures to be performed are determined individually. The patient and doctor should decide together on smile design applications according to age, gender and facial features. Some of these applications are:

  1. Gingival aesthetics, also known as pink aesthetics

  2. White aesthetic. This type of application is divided into different areas in itself. These areas are;

  • Aesthetic composite

  • Ceramic fillings (inlay, onlay)

  • Zirconium crown

  • E-Max applications

  • Lamina (leaf porcelain)

  • Bleaching

  • Orthodontic treatment

  • Implant treatment
